With the recent posts by sony1492 on his locost, I’ve been getting back into the planning stages of my own locost. As I was browsing the forums for frame dimensions I came across these pictures of an unassembled Exocet next to an unassembled Westfield. I believe the Westfield is a few inches larger in every direction than a comparable Caterham. Note that the floor p ans are at the same height on the pallets.

My comparison would be the caterham sv. At 6'1" I couldn’t comfortably fit in the standard car, but it was because my hips were too wide for the seat. The sv was perfectly comfortable though.

That is a good resource. It’s amazing how many different forums and websites exist for Locost building. I’ve been down loading pages like crazy.

If I ever do something like this, the lesson I have learnt from this picture is that a chassis should not be flat black.

I’ve sat in a Caterham comfortably before, not sure what model though. I got to sit in this 1966 Lotus last year and it was way too tight.
